I am trying.
I am working on the foaming today. I took the day off to try and get the Seaview at least floating close to trim as I am going to a clam bake tomorrow with a big pool. .
Are you thinking what I am thinking.
Even just sitting in the pool will be
Here are a few photos . The foam of choice is Cellfoam-88 by Midwest. Bonding agent of choice is a good marine grade RTV. I use Dap Aquarium sealant. BD.

I talked to Mr Seaview, Rick Teskey today about waterlines and such and I almost have it.
My goal is about 1/3 or a little more of the front window opening out of the water and just a small amount of the V-tail under water. This will keep my impeller in the water and give a nice surface trim. BD.

Well she is trimmed good enough to test. Now if I can get the battery pack made tomorrow and the low pressure air vent installed in the sail I will be ready.
The parts fit so well in this kit. I mean they just almost snap into place. I decided to make the entire lower front panel removable. This will allow me access to the entire bow area. I had already made the rear fin assembly removable to get at the PPJ/TD and the linkages. I may also make the front deck panel removable as well so I can get at the low pressure air vent in the sail easier.
I am going to take my video camera tomorrow and try to get some photos if all works well.
Like Steve Neill told me in an email he has been waiting since he was 12 to get a running Seaview model. I said I use to take my plastic model in the pool along with my 571 model and push them around. He said that is scary as he did the same thing.
I told him you have to be born a Bubblehead I guess. BD.

But I worked most of the day on her and I have everything ready for tomorrow. Woo Hoo!! BD.

The Seaview went in the

The Seaview went in the large test tank (pool) Sunday. It did not run to well due to needing more weight in the keel.
But this is how the trimming process goes.
I was very happy with its first time in the water. It told me just what I needed to know. Plus no leaks and the new cylinder worked great. I did have an annoying system cutout which was the ESC I was using. Now I have to add more keel weight and then foam the sides to compensate for the extra weight. The trim itself seemed correct I just needed the weight lower in the hull.
I will have her back in the pool later this week. I did get some video which I have to edit yet, but here are a few photos. She would tend to start listing when moving. This is one of the non-listing photos.

If one can tell from

If one can tell from a still pix, it looks like you are getting some good speed out of her, BD. A few questions:

* Do you suppose the list underway is due to torque from the motor/pj, or more from external dynamic forces against the hull?

* How was the rudder response above and below the surface?

* Did you notice any of that notorious tendency to point her nose toward the bottom while underway submerged?

I wish I could answer your questions but I have no idea. As I said it ran very bad. Mostly on its side.
It does have a lot of power.
In the underwater shot Don gave it a shove to get it going to try and keep it upright by using the (Maybe if it’s moving it won't tip principal) You know the one.
She started hauling A_S right to the bottom as she was negatively trimmed and ended with a bonk on the nose.
It should be much better now with the keel weight. BD.

Here is a photo of the 3 OZ of 1/4" lead wire and foam on the sides to float the lead. This should help a lot. BD.

I finally finshed the Seaview

I finally finshed the Seaview video.
It is short but I wanted to show the Bubbler working. I will get better video hopefully tonight.
It is cool effect.
It looks just like the one on the TV show. I have a small air intake up in the highest point of the PPJ intake that is just above the waterline when on the surface. I can seal off the hole if I want maximum output. BD.
