The rear parts are the stern plane tips painted white. The boat is at least 18 inches higher in the front. The bow vents are totally exposed and the rears are submerged. I will get the final final final trim after paint to look like this photo.

Base black paint is fully cured and dull coated. Got the vinyl masks made for the torpedo door rings and demarcation lines. (no numbers) Tomorrow, I will start the hull color plating with 4 or 5 different shades of black like the conning tower. This is also a great way to touch up flaws or scratches on the main color. After that cures, I will strike the waterline and add some light marine growth. Plan is to run her at Cerritos Regional park this Sunday.

What you're missing just to tease you.

Beautiful draft marks.
And the torpedo doors what a simple trick to paint them in.

Darrin took what looks like label paper printed the circles and ovals.
Might have even been printed on a vinyl cutter machine
Placed them on the hull and weeded out the circles leaving a very nice paint protection.
Perfect torpedo door marks.

Jeff, I will have the patch attached to something. Thanks for sending it out and including me in the group. Any idea on when the San Fran. meet is?
Ralph, Vinyl cutter for all stenciling. I use matte vinyl so the paint doesn't run after airbrushing.

I've been after the guys up North for weeks to get us a finalized date. Nothing yet. Will post for all as soon as I hear. And yes, I'll be attending in the fall as usual. As will Will, I'm sure.

Again, I wish you the best with your shakedown in Cerritos on Sunday. I'd join you, but that's the day I'm prepping all my gear and such for the SubRegatta in Colorado the following weekend.

Jeff, sorry about that. I use Photobucket which is blocked by a lot of companies. I use it because I do not like seeing scantily clad images below my images on the other hosting sites. CHEEZY!!!

I will be at the the San Francisco meet. Already have a house to stay in. Hope to get the wacky mine hunter running for it too.

Got the waterline scum on the hull and finished up the white and orange details. The green is very subtle but I wanted to see If I could actually stop when I should with the weathering.

Things left to do:

dry brushing flood vents, waterline touch up
zincs around propeller
install linkages and prop

FINISHED!
Got the zincs on, final waterline treatment and the flat clear sprayed out. Sea trials are tomorrow at Cerritos Regional park.

Ran the boat 3 times today. After some adjustments with Will, I am at about 95% trimmed. Did a few adjustments at home and couldn't be happier. It was really bright and hot today so the iphone shots are a bit hot. May get some better shots later today. Boat ran very well for the first time out. Second shot almost looks real.
