The hull is closed and the lightshow is on......

Next will be filling, sanding, hull details and then the photo-etched brass decks.

I was hoping you were going to post this back up here, after I saw it on Facebook. Fantastic work on this model! I can't wait to see the finished version. Thanks for posting it up here, too.

Main air induction mast, designed by me, 3D-printed by shapeways. I love those little extra details...

awesome details on that kit. I was wondering where you'd been... figured it was photo etch hell...

Simply more amazing work from you!
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

I added lots of details to the hatches of the conning tower and sail of my Trumpeter VIIc sub. Looks much better now...

Kit: coil spring too large -> made custom ones
hand wheels to tiny -> cannibalized the hand wheels of the kit's 8,8 which I don't need anymore.

                      Now the hatches look decent.

it's the little details like this and the work you've done on the 88 that make your model shine. I can't wait to see it all buttoned up and painted.

Amazing work. How do you keep all those pieces positioned for the adhesives to harden? Clamps, props, shims?

For the handles and hand wheels I drill holes. The rest: superglue
