If my vague memory serves, didn't these guys have multiple option deck guns? Have you decided which one to go with?I have to give you credit though, that's a lot more work then my OSCAR will need.

Yes the armaments on type VII boats did vary from boat to boat and later in the war they added more flak guns and removed the deck guns. I will be using the correct armament for the U-96 just prior to her seventh patrol in 1941. So she'll have one flak gun and a deck gun.

I have been working on hatches, hinges, little details, railings, and building the upper pressure hull since it shows through the deck plates...

Everything here is soldered sheet brass, rod, and tubing.

Initial priming coats done. Checking for overall appearance. I still have a few spots that need to be filled and sanded before proceeding.

I find it interesting how things look during the process of building.
I keep working on parts trying to get them to look better or work better.
Then the time comes where I don't think I am making progress and I prep the parts and prime them.
Once primed they look so much better than I thought I had accomplished.

Thanks for the kind words guys. This project is a lot of work and going to take quite a while to finish but I love doing this stuff.
