Re: New project

    Hello there ,

I have a question regarding these 3D printing machine:
what format is necessary to be the file in order to understand that drawing ?.
I have "123d Design Software" which BTW is FREE , so can be Downloaded with no problem from Here]http://autodesk-123d.en.softonic.com/do ... ownloading

and I have made some sketches guest to learn and for practice . These is a sample and I am interested if these 3D machine or any other need a special program to understand the drawing made in other program.

    ,

    THANK YOU

    MARIUS

Most 3D printers will accept STL or OBJ formats

I second that: I use obj files which I send to the printing company

Can we discuss this in a separate thread? This really has nothing to do with my Nautilus build.

                    Re: New project

Right in time for Christmas I got a big package full of 3D-printed parts:

Propellers - turned out really good, even the profiles. Excellent for only 28 mm diameter.

Stern bulkhead - notice the 7° kink for the tilted prop axis]

                    deck hatches]

Sail cover, bridge, mast housing and small parts like periscopes]

That's going to be plenty of work to make moulds for all these parts.....

Are you going to use the printed props direct, or as masters for casting?

Did the Titanium printing not work out?

                        Re: New project

The titanium would have been horrific expensive. An it wouldn't have delivered the accuracy of the printed acrylic. So I'm going to use these props as masters for moulds....

I need to hire a crane to pick my jaw up off the floor after seeing those props. Wow, this is going to be absolutely beautiful. The sail top and insert look awesome as well.

                          Cheers,

                          Dave
