Re: Los ANGELES class Submarine Built Thread

I find some small plastic tube , witch I intended to use them for the wires of LED .
Basicaly I'm going to make a hole throw the mast , put the wire inside of the plastic tube , glue them and then squise the plastic tube inside the mast in order to remove them if is necasary .

    What do You think ?.

            Hi Marius,

I have a stong belief that everybody who is involved in building models is doing their utmost to build the perfect model in their point of view and put their heart and soul into it with the means available for them. Each of them is accomplished by overcoming problems by finding solutions for them, by developing tools to get things done, by learning to apply new techniques with fail and error, by making compromises. For me this gives me more satisfaction than to actually build a “perfect” model in someone else’s point of view.

You doing a great job so keep posting.....you can fill the gap with some kind of putty?

            grtz,

              Marius,

I want to second what Bart just said. You are doing great! I think among submariners we all pull together. You can always find fault in anyones build, but we seem to be more the type that want to see each other succeed rather than pick you apart. I personally have been inspired by some of your postings. Keep up the outstanding work!

To fill the gap, you can use auto body filler (here in the U.S. bondo or better yet Evercoat Metal Glaze). Build a lip or edge underside the hull epoxy it in and then fill the top to the level of the deck. It is a little late now, but I would have made the opening small than my sail and used some screws to fasten it to the deck.
Here is what Matt did on his LA sub that he sells.

But maybe it is not too late to do something like that.

              Peace,
              tom
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

I did these - submarine - to expand my knowledge , to spend in a pleasent way my litle spare time , to know wonderfool people from around the world .

                  ,

I think I can use body filler for the gap . I weel "...Build a lip or edge underside the hull epoxy it in and then fill the top to the level of the deck...." .
Next time I wheel keep in mind or if I don't I wheel ask before . These time I was very anctious to move on a litle faster and I did mistakes .

It was a great ideea the sistem from the picture but how You sad is Too Late .
My ideea was to have a big open hole for the future . I wanted to make the sail tower and the masts to move .

                    Marius,

exactly as you, my reason for getting into submarines was to expand my knowledge. i figured subs and helicopters were equally complex, but submarines don't explode into a million tiny expensive pieces when they "crash".... keep up the good work...

MAN You are SO RIGHT !!! . ,
And even if they sink with an ROV wit camera can be found .

P.S - to be more easy to recover the sub I intend to mount in it a small device similar to those from Airplanes - Lost Model Alarm , and I wheel open soon a tread about these matter on forum .

                        HI there ,

Spring always been among my favorites ...... so with the arrival of the first warm days and especially sunny days - I am addicted / dependent for the sunlight like plants - I started working on submarine and see that I have some spore. .... this is what I managed to do today ,

Today I gave holes, I gave threads, I filed, I sanded, cut and that's what came out :

                          HI there ,

A small progress today by making a little dipper the design lines in order to not be covered by paint :

I know , I know I did a lots of "extra" lines witch shouldn't be there but maybe I can find some putty to fix these .

Not much work these day because I'm stuck with a problem :

                            - the distance between the steering rudders axle and depth rudders axle is very small and do not know how to manufacture coupling rudders ,
                            - because of that I can't get a left / right rudders movement necessary for the turn submarine and no movement up / down for dive planes ,

The distance I took it form the drawing and scale distances table , but doesn't seems to be right .

May be You can give me some advices .
