            Steve,

            That part you made where the diesel exhaust penetrates the conning tower structure is called a stub-end flange. It allows the naval mechanics the ability to remove the exhaust easily without having to cut anything loose. It bolts up to a pad flange on the conning tower surface. I have drawings for all of those flanges in full scale for you, if you would like them.

              Steve,

              The R-10 looks *great*! Should be a blast running it in the pond.

              I do have a question: where's the mechanic's vise that's mounted on the aft edge of the sail? That's one of the 'spotting features' for this sub.

                          Now she's really done. Still things I'll add in time like that vice. tomorrow I start the test tank. Nothuing left to do but ballast her and trim.
