Just an update on my
Just an update on my FS-1 build. I did not want you guys to think I gave up!!
Basically I am waiting for my next shot at the pool for more testing.
I did make some simple changes.
I replaced the nozzle servos with stronger metal gear BB ones of the same type. I also spaced them a little wider so I could fit a different R/X that is not prone to reception problems.
I added a rear hold down for the top too as I noticed it was lifting a bit.
So now I have four screws CI!!
It still only takes me about 20 seconds to open her up.
I do still have to get a better way to hold on the top hatch as it popped off doing a outside loop!!
I am thinking stronger magnets.

Til then, while you've been cleaning out the fastener department at Home Depot, I've been concentrating on the more important aspects of my own conversion. Like finding just the right shade of Schoolbus Yellow to paint the lower Docking Collar Insert. Four screws indeed! Sheesh.

You have made me see
You have made me see the error of my ways my crazy (Ivan) friend.
I guess it is more important to pick the correct color than to keep the top securely on the sub.

Well changes were made and
Well changes were made and the FS-1 hit the pool for the second time.
I still have big trim issues to sort out.
The new receiver worked very well as did the stronger nozzle servos.
I did not get enough foam into the upper area though and she still wanted to flip over on her back. The throttle seems to be very touchy and comes on in a burst and sends the sub off in any direction before I can get control.
I may have to scrap the brushless motors for brushed motors with better low speed priority.
I am not very happy with my progress so far.
O well!! BD.

You can adjust the throttle
You can adjust the throttle curve on Mamba's. Also you can adjust the timing, which should be set to high for outrunner type motors.
I really recommend the castlelink adapter and software (the software is a free download). It makes setting up the controllers a breeze, and you'll be able to adjust the throttle curve graphically with the software.
