    Hi Steve,

well, I didn't partecipate to this wonderful thread, but I had a good reason...given the little time school gives me, I had to make a choice...browse the internet or build the RCABS WTC for my Permit, and I went for the second!!
But now, after reviewing all the thread...Steve, my compliments for you excellent work! You realized a perfectly working and scale model in a very short amount of time...a really good job!

Hi Steve...Your masterpiece deserves an Iron Cross, an Oscar and an Emmy for "Best in Show". You have put together a tutorial on how to build a functional, museum quality model. This thread has been the most informative and useful one I've seen. Thanks for the thread and the model.

              Sam,

I'm just a caring, compassionate person......I can't help it. I really am concerned about Steve. I mean, if he takes a break from scratch building, his skills may suffer, which could lead to depression, and ultimately, the possibility of being committed to a psychiatric institution. I worry about him all the time. I feel strongly that he needs to continue with his model building therapy.

              Myles.

Ok, I have a degree in psychology. You COULD be right.

Steve, just keep an eye on yourself. Twitching of the hands, lifting off the lids of resin cans for a "sniff", watching Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea and thinking 'research', it will be time to resume the required obssesive therapy.
Anybody that hangs a Dr. Strangelove on his wall is alright with me.
You, I understand. So, take a rest. Yea thats it.Rest. But watch the symptoms]

                        All right you guys. KNOCK

All right you guys. KNOCK IT OFF! Drop and give me twenty. Now!

Feel better? That helped kick some of the piss and vinegar out of you. Didn't it!

Now Wayne. You made me laugh so hard about the little rodents in hats I PISSED MYSELF! Man give a guy some warning. You've been hanging out with those Russian comedians again. Haven't you!

I'm going to do three more boats next year. The Seaview. And the XXV1W. Now that will all have you searching the net to find out what the h ell it is! HA HA! Thanks to Gantu my friend in Germany I do know what it is. And you'd better like it.

Now I know anyone out there over 45 will kill to have a Seaview. Right men?

And there is one other I got Chris Nutting working on CAD for. A Nautilus. No not the Disney one again. But our first nuclear powered sub. Small 36 inches. Will work with Big Dave's WTC.

Now Myles the trouble with big Horrible Harry sized boats are, well, everything! Lots of money for the kit. More for the electronics, motors and then there's that WTC. Who's going to make me a big darn WTC? Say 8 inch OD? 4 ft long. Ya that should be cheap. Get ready to sell your cars boys and buy a darn crane to move it.

Even at Robbie size it ain't going to be cheap, or easily transportable yada yada.

Well enough of that. I hope you guys will be happy with my choices.

Right now I have to re build my web site. Make a movie trailer for a friend. And make a few hulls of the 17 to sell. I was laid off again. So I need the d arn money. That's what my break is for the next two months.

In there somewhere I have this type 23 to build. But starting fresh next year it's Seaview, Nautilus and the XXV1W.

And Chuck. Thanks so much for your post!

                        Steve

                            Maybe so Myles. But you'll

Maybe so Myles. But you'll have to make one of those big boxes with 10 million screws to seal the darn thing. Or make one big lexan tube. I'm keeping everything to 1/35 for coastal boats and 1/72 - 1/96 for the larger boats.

More off the shelf parts available. Most of the WTC's people all ready have will fit them. It's just more practical and I'll sell more that way.

BTW guys I'm making hulls up now. So if you want one please email me for the price on the beta kits. Just got laid off from my job so I need to sell as many as possible to help out around here until I get back to work.

Steve is so correct about the big boats. Even though my Type II at 80" ( and about 60 lbs.)will require me to build my own WTC, and though I am willing to attempt to build it, all my other boats use readily available 3" and 3.5" WTCs. Locating and buying the materials for such a large WTC,( I am going 6" clear tubing for the Type II) is not as much of a challenge AS MAKING IT ALL WORK. I am certain to make mistakes, and will post threads as I begin so everyone can get a good laugh this winter. Remember, ALL advice, constructive criticism, etc, will be accepted.
Steve, thanks for all you contribute, has helped me quite a bit!
