Thanks Bruce. Not as clean looking as I'd like it to be but these are old parts used for many years and quite functional still. I found them on Amazon. One click and 2 days later I had them. I got lazy.

Here is a better view of the simple pump setup that doesn't require a solenoid or controller. These work great and I have never had a problem.

Stop that! You're being silly! LOL

Well it is and they have been.

I have been a busy bee as of late and the boat is pretty far along. I've painted the boat and have the hold down figured out. A Simple stainless steel screw through the bottom hull at the tip of the stern into the guide pin already provided worked like a charm.

Waiting on a Viper 15 ESC to show up from Harbor models to complete the WTC and I should be able to trim the boat in the test tank next week. Done a full week before the Regatta. Fastest boat I have ever put together.

I must have built 50 boats in my time here but this one took the cake one build time.

I'm thinking Fly Sub next. I have one of course. But first and other R-Class from OTW. Another Cient build.

More on this boat next week.

Trimming went well. Fit my tank perfectly. Trim was easy. Didn't take long. I have enough volume in the cylinder to get up and down well. Trimmed it so the top of the sail just touches the surface hands off. Just in case for the first run. It could have a bit more freeboard but...heh. I'm good.

I got a Viper 15 for it but it was kinda of big for the cylinder. I had ordered a 9 dollar ESC from China to to my surprise was tiny, 25 amp and hearty. Only problem is at the lowest throttle setting its still was a bit more RPM than one should have.

At full throttle this thing was awesome! A torpedo. Mammoth amounts of power. After all it is a fast attack. Right?

When BigDave built this cylinder for me years ago it was for the Seawolf. And he used a GWS geared Airplane motor. On the bench with the scale prop it creates a lot of air. You could darn near fly it if it had wings. so it should be interesting to run this Saturday with the LA Subron folks. I'll post video tonight of the trimming and running the motor up.

Notice the number. There wasn't a 595. I made it up. So it would be BD's boat.

True but there weren't Skipjacks were they? Maybe I should just make something up for BD...like BD01?

How about the SSN-509? This is a hull number familiar to a few of us through at least two movies (Ice Station Zebra and Gray Lady Down. It's a number that the U.S. Navy has never used. It was part of the construction series from 495 to 521 that was cancelled at/near the end of WW2.

You could then call her the USS Minion (SSN-509) to honor BD.

I thought about using a testors decal making kit to make an avatar for one of my projects. It should work but I haven't used it before. I will coat the decal with clearcoat to lock it in.
