Is your Tx set to PPM mode?
When I got my first Futaba CAP9, it did not work.
After talking to Radio South on the phone, he had me step through the menu and set the Tx to PPM mode and all was good for running boats.
      ---------------------------
The mode is displayed in the upper right corner of the screen. PPM
      If not then try this.
Hold the Menu button down until the menu comes up.
Turn the rotating knob on the right side of the screen until it displays the second menu and Parameters.
Push the rotating knob down once.
Move down the list using the two up and down buttons on the right of the screen until you get to the menu item MODUL: and select PPM using the rotating knob.
Once selected, press the End button on the lower left of screen ntil you get back to the Main Screen.
PPM should be displayed in the upper right corner now.
I'm not using a PCM receiver so the Tx is in PPM mode.
The problem I think is that the ESC is not in the Forward/Reverse mode. Somehow it is in the Forward only mode and I can't seem to program the Forward/Revers mode.

We will keep thinking on this.
There has to be a solution.
It just needs to be found.

Thanks but these are too small to read.
For some reason Engel didn't provide any programming instructions in the bag with the ESC.
All I could find were the ones in French and the Table didn't translate.
What I need to figure out is which "Mode" ( 1 beep or 2) is the one for Forward/Reverse.
What does it say on the Table?

I went out to the shop and found my copy of the instructions.
I scanned them at a large scale for easy reading.
Should be able to enlarge by clicking on the image.

                Ralph,
Very nice scans. A great resource!
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

                  Anyone can save these instructions.
                  -----------
Right click on link and choose Open in New Tab.
Then right click on image and Save As to your computer.
These files will open in any image reader.

I've recently purchased some of these paints? What's the big deal with a 2K paint. I will say I prefer them but I'd love to know more.

                      Chad,
I was curious as well, I had not know about a 2 part paint in a can. Here is a cool video that gives some of the benefit: https://m.youtube.com/watch?ebc=ANyP...&v=Y6bLPBlaQgM

I used these 2-part epoxy paints in a can to paint a nitro rigger.
Needed a good fuel-proof paint and it worked great!

                          Ralph,
                          Thanks for the scans!
I was able to program forward/reverse on the Futaba 9C.
The "0" point ends up being close to the bottom of the stick range, but that's alright since I don't plan any high-speed reverse maneuvers!
One question though, it looks like you have to set the "0" point each time you turn on the Tx/Rx/ESC?
That is, it doesn't seem to "store" the zero point in the transmitter?
I can move the point a little bit with the throttle trim.
