It really is looking great, Kevin! But didn't you tell me a while back that this was going to be a late-life version? Which would mean the 'squid-tail' look per the '59 & '69 drydock pixs. Or did you decide to go with the as-built version? Just wondering.

Slight change of plans. Seems the as launched version is be a bit more popular so, I went with it instead. It was a lot more research but I think it is looking awesome. You can even make it into the under ice version now.
Hmmm... seems like an opportunity for an aftermarket tail mod add-on. Or maybe you could come out with a whole accessory kit to cover the later versions.

Paul, maybe these show it a little more clearly. My understanding is that this was done to smooth out some turbulent flow at speed which was causing some potentially damaging vibration in the hull plating. Kevin, have you come across any dimensional data or plan drawings of this configuration?
