On Saturday, we had a "LUNCH and LEARN".
Thanks to Bob and Helen Gesking (and Loyalhanna
Dockyard for sponsoring the pizza!) everyone enjoyed
some delicious Pizza for Lunch.
Bruce Martin, Chris Rueby, Don Osler, and Bob Gesking
enlighted everyone on the different ways to make a good
running R/C Sub using a common hull.
Ken Lane also discussed some of his adventures making his
8 foot 3D printed hull of the Seaview.
Here are some pics.

2023 Carmel R/C Sub Fun Run Wrap Up:
This year’s 8th Annual Carmel R/C Sub Fun Run returned to Carmel Indiana.
As usual the weather was great for the whole time, except for Saturday morning
around 6 am. The downpour stopped before we got to the pond and the rest of
the weekend was rain free. Chris Campbell, Co-Chairman Don Spielberger and
members of the Indy Admirals made the arrangements with the city of Carmel
and the tent company, so we were all set to load the tables under the tent with
all sorts of R/C Submarines.
The Swap table filled up quickly as did the Raffle table.
Sub captains came from as far as Arizona and the Canadians were also
there as usual. We also had some of the Indy Admiral captains present and
running subs. The sub captain meeting was held at the beginning to let everyone
know the rules of running the boats and making sure to get a frequency flag on
your transmitter before turning it on so as not to have frequency conflicts.
We had about 25 Sub Captains over the weekend.
Kevin McLeod ran the frequency control on all transmitters as usual. After the
Captain’s meeting, we announced the winner of the “KNOW YOUR SUBS”
competition. Pat Habel was the winner with all correct and won the
Mtroniks Viper Marine Speed control. (Thank YOU LoyalHanna DockYard!)
There were many Subs in the water most of the weekend.
Thank you to the Indy Admiarls for providing us Pop Up Tents for the Sub Captains
to sit under while running the boats.
On Saturday we also had a “Lunch and Learn” where Bruce Martin, Chris Rueby,
Don Osler, and Bob Gesking enlightened everyone on the different ways to make
a good running R/C Sub using the 1:72 Moebius Skip Jack kit and a 1:72 skipjack
fiberglass hull.
Ken Lane also discussed some of his adventures making his 3D printed
8 foot Seaview Sub.
A special THANK YOU to Loyalhanna Dockyard who graciously sponsored
the PIZZA lunch everyone enjoyed at the “LUNCH AND LEARN”.
As usual the Raffle had many great prizes. Thank You to all who donated to the raffle!
I would like to mention the following people who without all their efforts,
we could not have such a successful event.
Chris Campbell, Gene Weisner and the Indy Admirals,
Don Spielberger and Loyalhanna Dockyard, Bob and Helen Gesking,
Kevin McLeod, Bruce and Brenda Martin, Don May, Pete Piekarski
Finally a special THANKS to all the folks and Vendors who attended, donated
to the raffle, and bought lots of raffle tickets. Without your support this event
could not be successful.
