Revell Type VII photoetch - any interest?

Please leave some feedback here for Jeff LaRue regarding creation of a set of photoetch for this model...would anyone be interested in getting a photoetch deck and detail set for this model if it could be affordably priced? If it offered an option to have a deck with a schnorkel well? If it included the conning tower floor?

    Thanks in advance,
    Sam

    I would be in on

I would be in on that. Iwill be watching closely, along with everyone else, for upgrades for this fine model.
There is a rumor of a wtc being fabricated as we speak. The potential is there. I would think by next year there will be wolfpacks all over the place. This looks like the "volkswagen" of our hobbie.
Interested members speak up ! Our vendors are watching.

Thanks for the input Wayne...I know Jeff needs to get about 30 decks ordered to make it economically feasible to do...so I'm still waiting for others to chime in on this...

Well heck ... might as well make it three Arizonans in a row. Any idea how much and when they might be available?

                        Spoke with Jeff about this

Spoke with Jeff about this last night...told him there' s genuine interest in this. He originally stated that it would probably be 3 deck pieces, plus conning tower floor, on one 12 X 24 fret. Ther may be some extra little bits that could fit on the fret, but the extras that could be done for this mdoel add up to another photoetch project in itself...if you've ever seen the OTW PE frets, you can see what I mean.
Jeff's cost estimate was somewhere in the mid $40's range...

Now, I just spent $7 on a tiny little photoetch grill set from Aber for a 1/35 Panzer V I'm building. (I swear, the fret was probably 2 inches by 3 inches...)
I hope you all agree that for what this set will do for this model, that isn't a whole lot of money!
The biggest problem Jeff has is that we can't get our hands (we being the "U.S.") on a model so he can measure the deck outlines. Jeff can probably work some CAD magic with his 1/48 scale decks to get these to 1/72 fairly quickly...but he needs the model's conning tower floor and overall deck outline. Until he can get his hands on that reference material, he's doing the old "hurry up and wait".

Hope that helps answer some questions.

naw, I have 2 on order...and what I will pay for them will still be less than what this person's asking for the one...

I was kind of hoping that someone might be able to trace the outline of their decks and send the tracings to Jeff. That would at least get him closer to the correct size.
