Re: Matt Thor 60" 1/72 Scale Akula II
Nice connectors.
I use a wheel collar, I soldier to the control rod going to the control surface(s).
Then the wheel collar slips on the control rod from the cylinder and can be tightened down where ever needed to adjust the two rods to neutral.

If there are two control rods coming from the control surfaces, I use a second collar on the first control rod to adjust eh second rod.
(Looking for photo)
I do something similar to make the connection from the main motor to the propeller shaft.

Several things drive my building.
Two are of them follow...
1. I am cheap and try to use what I have in my parts boxes.
2. The closest hobby shop or any type of hardware store is about 18 miles away, one way.
On soldiering to the wheel collars. I grind a small groove to accept the size of push rod.
Prep and tin both the collar and the rod.
Use the soldiering iron to push the rod down in the groove.
Make sure the set screw faces up so you can get to it when in place.

Re-working the linkages yet again. Going for a bit more strength with 3/32" rod as opposed to the 1/16" that I was originally using. With the 3/32 I could also solder on clevises. Everything is kept together by 3/16" wheel collars that finally arrived today. The linkage rods were checked for clearance of the prop shaft. I'm getting good throw on the planes and rudders.

The propeller shaft:
The prop I'll be using for this boat takes a 5mm 1/8twist rod. Had to special order that from McMaster. A length was cut and soldered into a 3/16" ID tube, into which was also soldered at the other end a length of 3/16" piano wire.
The nose cone was attached and blended in. Still have to paint the tail cone for the prop. I will probably paint the tail and the prop both so they blend nicely together.

now on to some more sanding, smoothing, and scratch filling.

@ eckloss ,
Way did You make / used such a long thread on a brass road ? ! ,
Doesn't affect the spinning of the shaft ? ,
The propeller shaft does not rotate in a bronze bush ? ,
If YES is OK , if NOT It maybe act like a file on the interior surface of the nose cone during spinning .
Just a thought .

I think is a good ideea .
I believe a smooth surface on rotation in close contact to another doesn't hurt but that rough may affect .
Don't take my words for granted but is better to see the other opinions .
