    Steve,

    I do not know you

    Steve,

I do not know you personally, but you have definitely misunderstood my reply and read way more into it than is warranted.

    >>> As far as I can see you took offense to my comment about the site's limitations. I can't help that. Maybe I took your comment the wrong way and if so I apologize. But I got the feeling your were ticked off just like Wheeler was about the event thing. I will not be treated like a bad little kid here. I'm a 53 year old man, not a kid and I have done nothing wrong.

My only point in my reply was to let folks know that we do allow uploads, but that you must be a member to use that capability. Your posting can easily be misunderstood that we do allow for uploads under any condition.

...and yes, I do know that you are a member.

    -Jeff

p.s. as for what you call the "busting" of your chops by Jim Wheeler, since I did not see any of that posting or follow-on conversation I cannot address your concern.

      Jeff,

      Ok. It's just that I

      Jeff,

Ok. It's just that I thought I detected a little bit of spite from you. I don't know you either. But I thought this post might be a nice idea to get the members blood up. About doing more to help out the action here.To boost the sites members. And the only thing you commented on was your concern that my post might make people think they couldn't post pictures here. Nothing else.

Now the members know they can. You don't need to tell them and either do I. But there are a lot of future members that in the mean time would like to contribute to this forum. I never said you can't post pictures on SC.

As far as Jim is concerned I was just disappointed in his lack of response to my cooperation with his wishes. I detected spite there too. I'm not sure why this is.

I would think with the amount of readers that have been brought to SC by my posts (the type 17 thread alone has over 6000 views not to mention the other 5 building threads) would had at lease got me a thank you first when you responded. Like "gee Steve you might want to reword your post as it might give people the wrong idea." and I would had gladly done so. Still will. A simple thank you can go along way with me. And I always give the same back.

Jim called me counter productive in having an event the same weekend as Tom. He went on to tell me how hard Tom works on these events as if I didn't. Or worse as if I just didn't care about giving another event within the SC group competition, I'd never do that. I would had though the right thing to do here was to say thanks for canceling your event to help another member.

I'm here to work with you guys and expand the hobby. I am quite grateful to the both of you for allowing me this great opportunity to be part of an important organization.

Enough said and keep in mind I've been through h ell lately and back. I'm a bit cross and speak my mind more than ever in my life. So I won't take it personally anymore if you don't.

Now back to work here and I hope this clears things up a bit. Remember I'm with you. Not against you.

      Thank you for listening,

      Steve

Here's some pictures Table Dancer sent me of his type 7 in progress. Looks like you have it working well Mike. Get some video when you get her all done and we'll post it here.

And lets see. Dave has built and designed the WTC's for the Revell type 7, Trumpeter Kilo, Seawolf. Plus built the models and has run all three. He has also now designed the new DW-3 inch RCABS-R WTC. And lets not forget the vintage kit he built too! Quite and under taking. What was the name of the kit again Dave?

Plus he's been producing production kits of his WTC's. Wow Dave. Your a machine! Very impressive in my book.

              Steve,

I don't give a rats about what people have a passion for.....as long as they have passion. You certainly have that, which will carry you and your endeavours (Canadian spelling) a long way. The models you have created reflect that passion.

I've been finishing up a few static models (See my Type VIIb post in the static model link) before I go for the Type VII R/C project. I did receive my Fritz Kohl plans from Germany the other day. Spent days just oogling over them. Man I love U-Boats. Wish I understood German. It would help. I still dream every day of my type VII. A few more static kits, a little more research, and I hope to start putting that dream into reality. That's the way I am though..... Plan, plan, plan, ....think, think, think. I enjoy that aspect but it does prevent me from getting more done than I could. I've turfed more scale drawings of "potential projects" than I can think of. Most of them are not valid for one reason or another but I'm sure I've thrown away some good stuff too. (I've got to quit doing that). I'd like to get into CAD for some of my design ideas but.......

As for your other comments........I have been researching the feasibility of building a working submarine. A PSUB as they are called apparently. Been spending a ton of time researching that as well. If I could build me a U-boat looking sub that I could ride in and actually dove........whoooooaaaaaaaa. My thoughts are a little "out there" on that one but it is something I've thought about, which is kind of in line with your "dream big" concept. The R/C sub is certainly closer to reality and something I really want to attempt. I just love your type XVII. A true work of art. I hate using the whiney "I have no time.....waaaaaa !!!" as an excuse. I have as much time as anybody. I do wish I didn't have to go to work though. Now THAT, is a waste of time.....other than the fact it pays the bills I suppose. I would LOVE to be a wealthy, retired, full time hobbyist. Not in the cards right now so I'll continue to be a back yard tinker'er. As for "getting a life", enjoying ones hobbies IS the life. It's all the other crap that gets in the way that is annoying.

              I admire your enthusiasm.

              Myles.

And I admire yours. Thanks a bunch Myles.

Your not so crazy as I have contemplated a full size personal submarine too. And it has been done a few times. There's a guy out there with a WW2 U-Boot that he can sit in and submerge. Another that built a Disney Nautilus.

It just takes money and time. Something I hope to have one day.

                    Steve,

Ya, I like keeping my eye on guys like Carsten Stanfuss and his Euronaut project as well as Peter Madsen with Kraka. (Not sure if that's the "U-boot" guy you mentioned.) I find myself awe enspired by the fact that these guys have a ton of passion, a crazy thought, friends and family that very likely thought they were nuts, probably a second mortgage on the house (they don't come across to me as being independantly wealthy. I could be wrong but they look more like "normal" guys to me) all in the name of pursuing a dream. I admire that a lot. I would like to be a guy like that (Not sure how to break it to my wife though .... Any thoughts on that one ? I'm pretty much convinced that if I had a crane truck pull in the yard and drop off a 10' piece of 48" steel pipe for a pressure hull, she'd have me committed. The sacrifices us guys make in the name of keeping the peace). R/C sub guys are cut from a similar cloth with perhaps just a shred bit more "sense" about them....if that's the right word. Find me a guy that has an interest in R/C subs that wouldn't love to go for a ride in a real one, home made or otherwise. Sign me up for that one. I'll take my chances on the hull imploding.

I hope to commit more time to creating and less time to dreaming, thinking, and planning in the future (that's always been my weakness.) We'll see how it goes. There's a 1:25 type VII in my brain just itching to get into the water.

                    Myles.

I'm going to take 2 months off from building myself to catch up on my CGI work and attend to my many life issues. Then at least I will start another building thread. I haven't seen a building thread here other than mine for a long time now.

Some of you have good excuses. Some of you are kicking A. But out of 675 reads you can count them on one hand.

That's right. SC's new bad guy.

                        OK...I confess...I'm building...a...a surface ship!!!

I owe a friend of mine (for quite a long time) a build of the Robbe Dusseldorf...so I've been stepping out on my subs with a target...

Once it gets farther along, I will be working on one of my hulls- the 1/96 Seawolf, or the 1/24 Type XXIII...but for now, the fireboat has priority....

I have a Brian Taylor ME 109 unhappily unfinished sitting on a shelf above the workbench. Another delayed project is a static Panther (late) tank model with Fruilmodel track and P/E set ready to trick it out. Oh, and not the least of these,,, homework due in,,,,,12 hours and 30 minutes.
