OK guys first time on here. Tim Cobb here. Been working on plugs/molds for a 1/72 598 SSBN. I was on the Abraham Lincoln SSBN 602G. Sail is done except for scribe detail. Appendage molds done. Resin cast some parts. Hull plug just have to glass it and scribe detail. Turtle deck have to scribe details in it. Should have molds done in less then a month. Almost done with plugs for a 1/72 Thresher. After those are done my next builds will be a 1/72 Victor III, 1/72 Yankee II and a 1/72 Charlie II.

1/72 Abraham Lincoln SSBN 602 build
I make the hull plugs out of styro foam. Use 2lb+ foam about 3" thick. Sail and appendages I shape out of hard balsa. Glass over the all balsa parts. I use RTV silicone mold stuff I get off ebay. I figured out how to make the appendage molds from one mold instead of split molds. I will post pics of those molds tomorrow as it got too dark in my work area and I normally only work in sunlight for best results. I make my own scribe tools using old needle files. Molds I made in past are 1/72 Alfa, 1/72 Golf II, 1/72 Charlie I and the 1/96 Delta III. I think Bob Martin has some of those kits for sale. Dob Spielberger of Loyalhanna owns the molds to those. Here are some pics of my enlarged Yankee II vector drawings. Behemoth at 72.5" long.

Hi
598602G or Tim. Your sub`s detail is some of the Best I have ever seen. It will be a good seller for Don when he is able to start making them since you sold him your molds.

Will make those hulls for you as quickly as I can. Got a couple ahead of you to finish off and then I will get started. Finally got my kidney stones blasted last week so I should be able to spend more time in the shop. Too bad I have to work for a living or I would be in the fiberglass shop 20 hours a day cranking stuff out. I keep telling my wife to buy the winning lottery tickets so I can retire, but that hasn't happened yet.
