    The ballast tank is done.
I will do some more cycling of the system to see if any bad Juju pops up.
I ended up adjusting the safety stop for 750cc.
The bladder will fill more but I don't want to stretch it just fill it.
Just to be on the safe side.
It takes roughly 30 seconds to fill.
I think we will be running the boat in a decks awash trim so the 750cc should work OK.
Since visitors and newby's will be operating the boat too, it adds a safety factor.
Now on to the tech rack. Greg has purchased a Engel bayonet ring to use in place of the Robbe sealing system.
More later. BD Click image for larger version

You should be able to achieve a scale, or very close to scale surfaced waterline with 750cc of displacement.

I have to say that BD is carrying the load on this project. I am working on another project that is almost done. Then the dockyard work will begin for me

Mr Pita is a slave driver.
He keeps me chained to my workbench down in the dockyard.lol
Truthfully, I am glad to be working on something again.
It's been too long since I have felt good enough to do what I love best.
            Thanks my friend.
            BTW
Here is a photo of the finished tech rack bulkheads.
This time I checked to make sure it is right side up.
Hopefully. BDClick image for larger version

Just as a shout out to anyone watching this. I am looking for a periscope base as well as the smaller deck gun for this fine vessel. If anyone has either I would be interested . Thanks Greg

I am also looking for any information with regards to the conning tower layout. I would like to add some detail to the somewhat bare tower. Thanks Greg

Hey Greg, check out Super Drawings in 3D. I have one for my type VIIC and type IID and there great. Hey Dave I'm working on a new equipment set up for my Robbe. Can you send me some pictures of how Greg's is set up. I'm putting a Engel 750mg piston tank in mine.

                    Jim

I love it! Great idea BD. Maybe I should try this on my Skipjack build I'm about to start.

                        Hi Jim
Once I get all the components mounted in the tech rack I will send photos of the whole assembly.
                        BTW
If you know someone or have access to a 3D printer there is a tech rack you can print out for the U-47 on Thingvirse.
It was set up for a Engel tank I think.

                        Thanks Steve
It is great spending some time in the Dockyard again.
Just taking it day by day. BD

Working on the final assembly of the tech rack.
Greg informed me the new valve was in.
My work is almost done. He ordered some shaft seals tonight.
With the pressure buildup inside the cylinder the stuffing boxes would I fear not hold the pressure.
So seals will be added. BD

I tested the new 6V valve today and it works flawlessly.
                              Everything fits and works.
Just a little wiring left to do.
                              The cylinder uses 6 channels.
Front and rear planes, rudder, ballast, and two throttles.
True to his PITA name Greg wanted two ESC's for separate propeller control.
I have to keep the Tallman happy.
