Don,
You are upside down. Floods on the bottom, vents on the top.
They are stainles steel, no paint unless some topside gang gorilla painted them when the inport vent covers were off.
Bob.
Rick,
Last time I looked "USS Seawolf SSN 21" was a US nuke and not a fleetboat. But I could be wrong due to advancing age.
It appears peter is refering to the USS Seawolf for color of the MBT vents.
Peter, we normally use etched stainless steel inserts for the vents but any color duplicating stainless will do. You can also use stainless washers with the bolt pattern lightly punched into them.
Bob.
I am building the Trumpeter Seawolf and am using (the British size) 8ba washers but they are not easy to get in stainless, I do however have lots in brass. I have a tool that rebates the hull slightly so that I can get them in flush, I have tried various different silvers but can't make my mind up which looks best.
