Guys,
Starting this new thread simply as a reminder; hope everyone will see it.
Our beloved local L.A. SubRon is still very much ON for our first seasonal group outing, this SATURDAY, APRIL 25th at the model boating pond (third one, farthest to the right, if I recall) of the YORBA REGIONAL PARK (7600 E. La Palma—714-973-6615 or 714-973-6838; yorbapark@ocparks.com) in Anaheim. It'll cost you at least $5 to get in the gate, since that was the price last year.
I imagine Oudmayer, always the early bird, will be first on hand (per tradition)—probably by 0800 or so. Everyone else will roll in at different times over the next hour or so and if we follow last year's pattern, the party will break up around mid-afternoon. Parking is handily close to the pond site, so fear not about bringing big boats.
At last word, and in no particular order, below are the skippers who are planning to attend:
Will Oudmayer
Mike Dory
Darrin Hataway
Steve Neill and Mary C.
Ralph Fendley
Neil Schmidt
Tom Chalfant (of SubRon7 in Vegas)
Jeff Porteous
Don't recall if we've heard yet from Alan Haskell, but he attended this event last year. Alan, if you see this, sound off! (Ralph or Steve, wanna give him a call?)
Any others who see this and plan to be in the area are of course more than welcome to join us. Feel free to post here with any questions or concerns.
Hope everybody's boats are ready to patrol. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!
Good Luck and Good Hunting,
JeffP
