That boat takes a 2.5 SubDriver. I have one in stock.
It handles well. Turning is decent with those twin rudders directly behind the props. I’d anticipate perhaps a 15ft turning diameter, depending on how you set up your linkages.
Bigger than the T7, so more room in the hull for fat fingers, too.

Rick, I have one with the sub-driver and fittings kit. Like Bob said, much easier than the type7 to build and work on because it doesn't have the saddle tanks. I'd like the turning radius to be better, the setup doesn't turn the rudders as much as I would like. Plan to change that before too long.
Well, neither one is fast but run at reasonable speed. The type 7 turns better right now but the Type 9 can be easily changed for more rudder movement. The Type 9 has 2 torpedo tubes installed in it but I have not made them operational yet. Sticking the sub-driver in the Type 7 and connecting up the 2 shafts with long tweezers is a huge pain in the butt, the Type 9 is just a little tedious.
