Stunning and very sad news.
Please let us know if we can help Jeff's family during this hard time.
I met Jeff in the late 1990s after creating the SubCommittee's first website.
His offer to help with the website, SCR, modeling started a great friendship which grew over the years.
His humor and willingness to help is how I'll always remember him.
Peaceful travels, until we meet again -

Just hearing the sad new today. I never had the opportunity to meet Jeff in person, but he was very friendly open and encouraging to a guy trying to get into the rc sub hobby. And always willing to take the time any way he could. His knowledge and invaluable interested in helping the subcommittee will be greatly missed by many.
Sail on in peace my friend.

I would like to add a tribute to Jeff on the facebook group, Does anyone have a good photo of Jeff's Type VII or a sub he loved to run?If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

Jeff will be missed. His passing prompted me to write this poem.
Don’t weep for me dear brothers, sailors one and all.
For I cruise and explore the depths and heights,
With my Savior, friend and Lord.
My adventures on earth are over but the best is yet ahead.
Come join me someday, until then just pray that Jesus Christ is Lord.

I was very sorry to read here about Jeff.
On this side of "the pond" we rarely have a chance to meet up with you guys but it is still possible to gauge the man. He was unfailingly polite and courteous and did so much for our hobby. He will be missed.
Keep well everyone,
David
