Another arrival just docked at the Regatta raffle table:

An unopened Trumpeter early Gato static kit...

P.S. Note to Salmon and the Colorado Crew: my plan is to bring it with me rather than ship it ahead of time.

            Re: 2014 SubRegatta Raffle Donations

I have received a notification from someone (sorry I do not have the information) that wanted to donate, they asked is Monday too late to mail it. It is not too late, but we are creeping up to that time. Please if you have any donations that you want to give to the 2014 SubRegatta raffle table, let me know or post them here. Even if you intend to bring it yourself.
I cannot express enough my thanks and gratitude to those that have donated, both people and businesses. You are truly the Admirals of this fleet!

Just info.. I think was 1991.

There was SubCommittee meeting/lecture on R/C submarines at North Island, San Diego at the Officers swimming pool.
                              My son and I attended.
I brought a little R/C shark fin I built from scratch that was about 12" long and stood 9" above the surface when running.
Mike Dory was one of the speaker. The big topic was the outlawing of Freon and finding an alternative to running submarines.
                              Lot of talk about pumps.
                              This was a Saturday event.

As it was finishing up, one of the speakers announced that if anyone was interested in getting together on Sunday morning, arrangements had been made to tour the USS Chicago SSN-721 at the Point Loma Submarine base.. It was in port having returned from the first gulf war engagement.

Well, my son and I got up early again on Sunday and made the three hour + drive to join the tour.
                              What a treat.

Sorry, the above donation just brought back a flood of memories. Thanks!
