2025 Carmel R/C SubRegatta Wrap Up:
This year the 2025 Carmel R/C SubRegatta was held again at
the beautiful Veterans Memorial Reflecting Pond. The SubRegatta
again had over 25 R/C Submariner Captains present with over
40 R/C Subs on display. The weather was sunny but warm.
Thanks to the tents provided by the Indy Admiarls at the pond
shading the Submariner Captains, most of the Subs were out
patrolling the reflecting pond. If you have not looked at the
great sea shots of the subs that Bob Eisler graciously took
at the SubRegatta, please check them out on page 3 of
this thread. (Again Thanks Bob!)
Saturday Morning was very busy as All the R/C Submariner
Captains were busy setting up their tables, receiving their
SubRegatta goodie bags and SubRegatta T shirts.
After the Captain’s meeting, morning Sub Runs commenced.
While waiting for the transmitter Frequency Clips to come free,
most of the Submariner Captains caught up with each other
and discussed their new or old R/C Submarines
Loyalhanna Dockyard (Don Spielberger) graciously supplied
the “Lunch” Pizza.(Thank You also to Bob and Helen Gesking
who set up the delivery of the Pizza!)
So all ate well.
Rick Teskey and Ace Conrad gave us great presentations for
the “ Learn” portion of the “Lunch and Learn.”
Rick talked about his Flying Sub and Ace talked about
his adventure designing and printing out his 3D printed Quest
Stealth Sub.
Thank YOU both for the great presentations!
After a group photo was taken and more time running Subs
in the pond, Captain Choice ballots were counted and the
Awards were presented.
Then came the much anticipated Raffle drawing with Chris Campbell
drawing the lucky numbers.
Sunday morning started out quiet, but low and behold, Godzilla
was lurking in the pond! Suddenly the theme Godzilla music was
heard, and then a loud screech bellowed from the beast!
All submarines were called to action! But sadly any torpedo’s that
could be used to tame the beast, were used yesterday!
Only Kevin’s Oscar might have been able to take the beast out with
one of his guided missiles, but sadly Kevin was busy eating breakfast!
Eventually Godzilla got tired of chasing the Subs and was finally
held at bay at the corner of the pond!
After another beautiful day of running subs, Chris Campbell again
graciously read the lucky numbers for all the great goodies on
the raffle table.
A Good time was had by all.
Again a big THANK YOU goes out to the Indy Admirals who hosted
this event A special Thank You to Gene Weisner and Dave Hampton
who helped arrange for the use of the pond, the tents providing shade
for the Sub Captains, the Sub Launcher, extra trash cans, and the
portable speaker system.
THANK YOU goes out to Chris Campbell for arranging our Hotel
arrangements, gathered any raffle donations, setting us up with the
town permit, and graciously drawing the the winning tickets for the raffle.
THANK YOU to Don Spielberger (CO-Chairman) and Loyalhanna Dockyard,
and all who helped with the behind the scenes efforts. Registrations,
T-Shirt designs, T-Shirt ordering, Tent electrical setup and tear down,
goodie bags, registration badges, frequency control, pizza ordering,
reserving the tent, table and chairs, and Rick, Bruce and Kevin who
arrived early at the pond on Friday and made sure the tent company
set up the big tent, and anyone else we might of forgotten.
THANK YOU to This year’s EVENT Sponsors:
KMc Design Electronics
Loyalhanna DockYard
THE SUBCOMMITTEE
THANK YOU to the Raffle Venders:

And finally, BIG THANK YOU goes out to all who bought raffle tickets,

would not have been able to Pay for the Tent table and chairs and
have this great event.
This year we were just able to break even!
