Oh, ROMEO, Oh ROMEO, Where art thou???

He's lucky to be able to find it still afloat sitting at the pier.

Designed in the 1950s, the vessel was in production for the Soviet Union for only 48 months until being succeeded by nuclear-powered submarines 53 years ago.

Yes, the capabilities of the force are low, but their mere presence requires a slow down in operations until the threat is neutralized...and, they will probably get lucky and tag at least one ship grinding everything to a halt.

    Cheers,

    Dave

Anybody detect a little nervousness behind all those smiling faces surrounding the exalted leader?
      Warm regards,

During the Falklands War the Brits were stopped by the threat from a pair of GUPPY boats. The article is rather uninformed with regards to the Romeo class and diesel boats in general, but what do you expect when it's a wire repub from The Telegraph. The Romeo class weren't replaced by nuclear boats, they were supplemented. Remember, the Russians operate a bunch of Kilos too with a new model in the works. A few of the DPRK's Romeos are actually pretty new. A 60+ year old design yes, but built (assembled) in the 80's. They've also got a few demilled Golf Class subs that seem to have disappeared.
