Around the belts yes, but not around the prop shaft...
Found a basic drawing of a Dräger circulating blower. This is one installed in a Type IXc, but similar ones were also installed in the XXIII boats.

Puzzle work....the rudder works via a thread drive. The respective crank rods are a pain to fit in. Had to re-design the ventilation tubes more than one time.

Added the stern hydroplane drive. Again a rotating shaft drives a gear that re-directs the rotation downwars by 90°. A threaded drive then translates the rotation into an up and down movement that is then re-directed via a deflection lever towards the plane itself....tricky.

Continued printing 3D parts, this time for the Diesel. The motor block took severeal tries, but now I have everything in shape....this is as printed without cleaning up. Going to be good.

Lots pof smaller parts attached, cooling water, oil and fuel pump, oil filter, cooling water manifold for the block, exhaust, rpm meter, throttle....

Continued drawing.....clutch assembly. The problem is that photos depicting the interior of the Type XXIII are rare and often not quite clear. Anyway, that's what I found out. Clutch was driven by a manually operated worm gear with a detachable crank. This is my basic approximation. Details to be added....

Designed the belt drive clutch fpr my Type XXIII based on a similar one from the Type XXI (had the drawing of latter). The main clutch and the belt drive clutch were coupled, so that one could only engage the belt drive wehn the main clutch was open. A lot of geusswork on my side involved, as there are now drawings or photos of this section. But I like it....getting busy in there.
