    Re: Gerry Anderson Sky Diver

Skydiver is coming along. I got the main engines attached with brass pins and epoxy-evercoat. Blended and one of the PJ’s mounted. The motors still need to have cylinders around them to keep out the water but I needed to see if I have the room and I do. Barely.
All the big hull parts are on but before I add the small stuff I need to ass back the missing panel lines. After that I can cut all the drains and hoes in the hull.
As the uploading video will show I can pick this model up in one piece now. We are fast on the way to starting to pain next week.
The tops of the engines can be removed by holding on to the fins. The tops will be held on with magnets.

          Working out really nice Steve!

But why not gluing the small hatches above the PJ´s to the upper hull?

Ah it will just work out better this way you'll see as I progress.

Got a lot done on the Skydiver today but it’s hard to see. All I did was close up all the huge gaps where the main components meet up. Got the engine pods blended to the main body and everything separates cleanly as will be apparent by the upcoming video where I take it all apart and put it back together in a heartbeat.
Next will be to do a bit more cleaning up and add back the missing panel lines.
On the Enterprise I did the base over a second time and got the graphic the way I wanted. Base isn't finished but it will be tomorrow.

                            Re: Gerry Anderson Sky Diver

Today was a good day with lots of things accomplished on both models. The Skydiver has all the cart tape panel lines on. I placed an entire can and a half of high build primer over the tape.
I got the canopy frame cut out and the clear under canopy trimmed to fit and placed inside.
The Enterprise D got all the windows scratch in on the underside of its saucer section. Got a bunch started on the engineering section too. It won’t be long now until they are all done.
Tomorrow the Skydiver will have its chart tape removed so we can see the panel lines and move on to the under belly.
Another day and I’ll be able to finish the windows on the D. This leaves the clear coat, some painting trim colors and lastly the decals. We are on the home stretch.
Another day for the Skydiver and I’ll be able to start cutting the drain holes and soon be able to paint the base coats of gold and silver.
                            More tomorrow.

Missed a lot of posting here. SNG is now weekly. I'm also doing daily picture posts and text. Here's the latest:

We did lots of shopping for materials today and a lot of work on the Skydiver. Not much more done on the Martian but tomorrow more on him.
The Skydiver has all its drains and holes. Some un cannon but necessary drain holes on the bottom so the hull can drain water efficiently when in actual water use. Remember this is a radio controlled submarine.
I added most of the small parts to the hull although many are missing from the kit they won’t be too hard to recreate. There’s a base coat of Krylon metal brass on the hull. This will get wet sanded smooth tomorrow and then the sort of Aztec nickel and copper can be started along with the dark colors or anti glare. She’s getting there.
                              Steve

Been awhile since I posted last but here's how she looks now. I'm nearly done and only need to do a bit more painting and get the BD machine going on the WTC for it. Will post video of our show tomorrow.
