Thanks for the information.
I know what the sensors do.
Just never knew what SOKS stood for.
While looking for informatio, I did not find Systema Obnaruzheniya Kil'vaternogo Sleda in any of the articles I read.
But then I only read the English versions.
Might have been in the other languages articles.
I have found photos showing the sensors in various locations besides in front of the sail, top and bottom.

Your reference to spelling, I don't understand as you are coming through nicely.
Having a forum with people from all over the world, interested in the same things, helps.

back to the decals. As I mentioned at forums.airbase, I already have drawn the emblems and signs on the sail of K-480 and of the rest of the Akulas (except the "Volk").
May I ask, why do You chose the "Ak Bars"? The "Bratsk", "Kuzbass", "Leopard", "Magadan", "Samara" and "Vepr" have pretty nice big front emblems. Only the "Tigr", "Pantera" and "Bars" have the small emblems.
And by the way. I am interested in a cast of the sail!

Here ’is the story behind it Alex;

At the beginning of the project, just wanted to build a Akula.
During the build, I got more and more information concerning the different flights, somebody on another forum was so kind to explain the differences between the flights.
I had an Akula picture with the vertical SOKS fin flanked by two slightly larger fins. The guy explained that this was an early SOKS system and only one sub was equipped with this, the K-480 “AK BARS”

As I wanted an Akula that was a little bit different than the one you see out on the water, and I never saw a model of this sub I decided to go and make the K-480 “AK BARS” an AKULA I---FLIGHT I the 4th Akula constructed.

I consider this as my learning project.
There are some flaws in the molds, upper and lower part are a little asymmetrical near the stern (I learned my lesson there).

I rectified this in my hulls, and that's why I don't want to reproduce the hulls, they are not up to the standard I prefer myself.

The sail however I'm willing to reproduce for you, it's OK no flaws in it.
The master was not scribed or provided with the gratings, so the piece will be slick as a whistle, is this OK?

Cool! Thats no problem. I have not so much space at home, so I want to build the sails with 2 cm to the stern and to the bow.

To the decals: Do You need the markings (escape hatch, waterline, sea levels?) too?

Yeah those grills I’m really proud of, appreciate it you like them to.
Now I’m working on the masts of the VICTOR III, I think I can show something before the end of the year.
Here are some pics of the AKULA upon completion and her and the drivers maiden voyage.
