TK-17 Arkangelsk : a long road of patience

Hello everyone !

I'm apologize about my bad english, Still a froggies after all, and I will try to keep you inform about my TK-17's project in futur, here and on Scalesub forum with english subtitle when it need the most.

When I started this project, wooow 2007, I wish to achieved the most accurate models from Engels Kit inspire by Ramesh work on TK-20. This was a long road to gather informations, pictures materials, and a lot of headache to proceed proper modifications without compromise integrity of the hull. I wish to thank Wayne of course, Ramesh and some friends to support me during this years !

Actually, I almost finish the hard part of this achievment. I still need to add a lot of details like tiny grid, doors on the hull and finishing to get a smooth surface for painting. Recently I've detected some leaks who need my attention, no big deal but time waste. I need also add some lead ballast to get proper waterline (upper waterline) and then she will put to see this summer if I have time to complete last structurals modifications. Final painting will be come later I think !

I also barely finish the new vectorised plan for TK-17. And then I will work on TK-208 after her recent 941UM refit (bulava modification etc...). Recently I have new information about TK-17 and I'm still perplexe about what I've learn. I'm waiting pictures to confirm, and will discuss about this later.



I have no plan yet for "batch two" TK-12, TK-13 and TK-202

I will chime in here.
His revised plans are extremely accurate. They are accurate enough, they are specific to TK17.
It would be interesting to list the modifications and differences between your TK17 , and the origional Engel hull. I remember many of them, and can see them. But to the readers here, the troubles you went through would be appreciated when you show them.
Footnote, my friend. My X tail Akula came back to me yesterday in the mail.

This modification is 100% accurate for TK-208 and TK-20, I've dry photo of this part. Recently I've doubt for TK-17 so perhaps I do wrong when I modify this part... I'm waiting to find TK-17 on dry dock to confirm :

Engel's modify and create "tech Carrier" for WTC after I've done modification on bow plane servo, so a part of this work is no need now. I'm still have to do some details and etching on missile deck





Safety rail on TK-17 are different that I've done but modify them should compromise hull integrity.



So, basically all modification I've done on Engel's hull

Hi Gabriel, good to see you on here and glad to see she is finally nearing completion. I took a break from model subs to do some other stuff (I remember you did the same a couple of year ago!), but seeing your progress has now got me thinking about starting on a new Engel Typhoon again

Today, it start awfully wrong !

I have this picture of Typhoon since several months and I've a doubt about her identity. Now I've confirmation it TK-17 !


And then my nightmare begin !
I don't know yet when this photo was taken (perhaps 1991) but I can tell on things, this [censored] has keel on her sides. Meaning it has a "castor tail" short as TK-12 and the unmodified's Engel hull !


And there, I have a case of conscience because I haven't the courage to redo this part ! And of course I need to update my plan until I have confirmation of 2002 Refit remove/modify that part >_<

Furthermore, I continue to work on the shuttering of the ballast. I will soon be able to put resin and lead ball





I've made with plasticard Evergreen the maintenance box of towed sonar array. One of them on port side has just be placed !



Now I'm going to sleep for a while... too stressfull this day was !

This morning I decided to put the last small grids who'll be take place on the ground of starboard walkway. Otherwise, I've placed the starboard maintenance box of alr
