    Re: Transmitters avalible for submarines

I've got two of the Sprectra 75MHz modules on the way to me. Should be here by the end of the week.

      Only aircraft.
No marine screens in any radio I know of.

I have had a Spectra on order from Toms for over a month.
He still hopes he can get one for me as Hitec does not make them any more. BD.
I bought a Graupner MC-19 40MHz radio and it has 3 different types of aircraft screens ( heli, glider and power fixed-wing model aircraft),car, truck and marine screen. There are up to twenty model memories, too.
The radios are starting to plummet in price due to the newer models coming out, so they are now considered to be outdated.
I am converting the 40MHz TX to the HiTec synthesized 75MHz TX and the Graupner 2.4GHz TX.
The Graupner conversion kit 2.4GHz TX with the RX has telemetry built in for several different sensors.

With all the really great bi-directional functions being added for the 2.4GHz radios, it's too bad we cannot use them for r/c subs!

          Re: Transmitters avalible for submarines

          Jeff,
          Thanks for your kind help.
          Everything is running smoothly.
It would be nice to have a TX that has 75MHz and 2.4GHz built into one module with the RX made the same way for telemetry when surfaced.
I have the wiring schematic drawing for the Graupner MC-19 TX plug configuration, if anyone needs them.

              Very cool about the MC-19.
              Those Germans think of everything.
That is why I love my Multiplex radios. BD.

                Re: Transmitters avalible for submarines

I recognised that FM radios had probably on the way out (well for the mutichannel all singing/dancing, more fucntions that you will ever need variety) so I took the opportunity to pick up some 12 Ch synthesised radios on ebay and FM 7 and 12 Channel Synthesised rx's as well for knocked down price.

The MC19 with the crystal was sold leaving me with the 2 Synthesised Tx to which I also added a light weight Multiplex Cockpit SX for simpler models.

                  Ok Ramesh my friend.
I did not want to have to do this but I will see your MC-19 and raise you my Profi MC-4000.
After 12 years of lusting after one I finally found one.
It is arguably the most versatile radio ever made.
                  12CH and infinity mixable.
I had mine converted to 75MHZ by the Multiplex tech.
Now once I figure out how to make it work I will be good!!
BTW-I hear one certain SCR editor whose name I will not mention is so jealous he is searching for his own. BD.

I think I might know who you are referring to.

And that certain SCR editor has 2 Spectra 75MHz synth modules. Got yours yet?

                            Re: Transmitters avalible for submarines

Sadly in 2007 Multiplex stopped making this radio.
It was phased out by the easier to use EVO line.
Although the EVO was not as versatile as the Profi it was easier to program.
Did I say much less expencive too!
In it's day this was a $1500 radio.
The MC4000 takes time to get use to the programing but once you do it is easy.
You are not limited to the normal fixed channel stick outputs and can make any stick (including trim tabs), pot, or switch, do any function, and output on any receiver channel.
It even has a internal battery discharge function.
It can also hook to a PC and upload and download data.
You do have to like the euro Pizzabox design too.
If it sounds like I like this radio I guess the answer would be yes.
And Mr editor, this one is, Mine Mine Mine!!! BD.
                            BTW-Good luck on your quest.

Yep thats one the most usefull features I fins as well on my MC-19s & 22s - the ability to assign any trim or switch on the TX to any channel.
BTW, there is a new Profi out, alas only in 2.4Ghz

                                I saw that new Profi.
But the new 2.4's are giving us good deals on old 75 radios.
So I guess it is not all bad. BD.
