    WTC How far Underwater?

    Hi all,
Now I have a question for those that have built and operate the Engel Typhoon sub. The sub has a water tight compartment that houses the electronics. When the sub is in the water and trimmed, how far underwater is the top surface of the WTC?

    Thanks, Ed

In mine, the designed waterline is basically flush with the top of the dry compartment. In actual operation, however, I think it will sit about an inch under, as I can't get enough buoyancy out of the twin tanks to allow for full emerged waterline.

      Thanks Bob!
I am considering where to mount a sensor to know when the sub is at the surface vs when it has started to dive. I just was not sure if this could be "flush mounted" or if it would have to be raised up.

Mines flush with top of the lid as well. However I can get mine to sit at the designed waterline with a lot of 'volume reduction' of the top hull.
