Hi all what are some really good glues for putting a fiberglass sub together ? and for attaching resin parts ? I heard from a friend that T-88 was the Bentley of glues for sub, Tor F ? also what are the pro's and con's of each glue ?
I'm building a 1/96 Thor Permit, and, following the advices of Matt Thor, the CARDINAL rule in gluing fiberglass and/or resin parts is to use epoxy glues...but NOT, repeat, NOT of the quick driyng type, like 5-10 minutes epoxy.
These quick cure epoxies AREN'T waterproof and will loose their strenght after a while...RC Submarines operate in a costantly wet environment.
The best choiche for gluing fiberglass hull and resin parts is very slow cure epoxy glue (24 hours).
Hope this helps!
