    Re: Deboer 57 inch Seaview

I struggled over the 80" model as my purchase from Dennis Deboer, but I think that Steve and Dave would have me stick with the 57"
I would love to see pics of your build Kerry. Unfortuneatly my face is not welcome where you posted your thread.
Maybe you could share a few with us here?
    Thanks
    Dean

I think you have to be harcore to get the 80" Seaview- it is a very big model.

The 52" is a nice size- big enough for a bit of pond presence but small enough to be transported easily by one person.

The Moebius Seaview is a nice model, but looks very small.

Andy I could agree more. But the small Seaview runs the best. I have no problems with it. And the PJ works better than the props for some reason. It gives me more authority in the stern planes and it's easier to overcome the nose down effect. The dive planes are just more effective. Until i added stators to the nacelles on the big one I couldn't get the dive planes to be effective at all even though they have the same surface area a shape as the Moebius model.

          Ok guys,
No one said anything about a PJ.
          Least of all not me.
Designing and building a custom PJ is not in my agenda.
          Hate to burst your bubble.
I am still thinking about the cylinder.
Plus there is no way I am building the beast.
I just don't have the time.
          Sorry Dean.
The best I can do is maybe build a custom cylinder. BD.

BD. I didn't think you would. But it is my observation after building your version and the Deboer that the PJ works better than the props.

Personally I would prefer not to build another larger Seaview. It was a super hard build and trim.

Well I have the time and the patience to make this work.
I would like a BD one of WTC for this build.
I am going to see if I can get a PJ from a source, like model RC electric jets or something...

                  Dean,
When I have something presentable to share I will certainly post it here.
I am about 80% ( no pun intended) done with construction of my WTC and bilgepump/ballast tank.
With basically zero to copy from among 80 builders, my guiding rationale comes from the experience of those who have been successful in the Moebius-to-57 range. Steve Neill, who has done both, provides a cautionary tale:
" With this boat, the bigger it gets, the worse it gets."
                  Apparently, with Seaview, size matters.

Your going to have a winner Kerry.
You know about the static planes in the nacelles.
Mr Merriman says that properly balanced, the sail planes make it run real smooth.
You know the dive tendency and you will probably do what Steve did and have extra ballast in the stern.
You know that you can conquer all these issues.
I cannot wait to see the finished product.
I would like to see it before I make my final decision...
I know it is big to transport, but my dad has a van.
