Re: 1/350 USS Enterprise RC A sub?

I'm back to the Enterprise in between the lines of finishing my Movie "Foo Fighters." www.foofightersmovie.com
I started finding all the light leaks and I'm blocking them from the inside with aluminum duck tape. Works perfect.
I'll be installing LEDS bit by bit.

After I finish her off I'm going to build one of my own kits. The Type 17 since mine was lost.

Started the lighting. Got pretty far tonight but have so much more to do. The light leaks will all be fixed once I finish and seal her up.

The Array is not really that bright but some of these shots are over exposed and the one that isn't is under exposed but you'll get the idea. Somewhere in the middle is the real deal. I'll shoot some video soon that will show it correctly.

      More tomorrow guys and girls.

      Steve

Here she a little under exposed.

Both od these shots are a little over exposed.

        Nice so far Steve.
So, how is the lighting set up? 5mm or 3mm, and how many and placement. Between this Starship and my boat, we could really light up a pond, couldn't we ?
        Keep going!!!

Yes Wayne on both counts. All 3 volt on a 3 volt power supply and later on two 1100 mah AAs.

            Long way to go still.

Many light leaks to fix. Painting. over 100 Aztec decals that cover the entire hull. But I do have all the lights in and working!

About 60 lights total. 3mm and 5 mm 3 volt LEDs in parallel. No resistors. 3 volt power supply. Will run on 2 2100 AA rechargeable. All sealed connections and poles with hot glue.

            Back to fixing light leaks.

                    Hey smart guy, no resistors?
Thanks for letting me in on that.

I thought that you always need resistors. I was wrong and thats sad as I used to do electronics. I must be retarded.

                        Hi Steve.
You opened up a whole new approach for the boys at the model forum, that light models.
Your a big hit over there with this information.
                        I have one question.
                        You initally stated
All 3 volt on a 3 volt power supply and later on two 1100 mah AAs.
                        Then changed that to the
                        2 2100 AA rechargeable.

Was there a typo, or did you try the two and find 2100 were better.

                        Thanks
                        Dean

1 is fine for the whole system. I don't know how long it will last but I figure long enough to run it for a patrol.

The power supply I run on the the bench is an 1000 mah 3 volt from Electronic City. Check them out on line. It has 3 volt to 12 volt and they are only 10 bucks.

                            Thanks Steve.
In the end do you run the batteries in the wet?
I would like to see a video of your internal layout.
If you could do that in the future, I would appreciate that.

                            I got one coming.
I wonder if Big Dave could make me a WTC vector thrust for this?
Hey Big Dave, Holler if you hear me.

Yes in the wet. But sealed some how. It will be awhile before I get back to the build as I am finally finishing my movie and I'm in post for awhile and will surface soon. www.foofightersmovie.com
