1/350 USS Enterprise RC
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well it started with this:
I worked on Star Trek the Motion Picture doing make up effects and Nimoy's ears many years ago. Being a fan of the original show and growing up with the show working with Roddenberry, Wise and the original cast was one of those life events I'll always hold close.
Although I liked the new movie the redesign stunk! But the Refit for Star Trek the Motion picture and the films to follow was always my favorite.
When I got a load of just how big this 1/350 model is I had to try it. I'm using Adam Carlson's WTC he made me a few years ago. It fit perfect into the engineering section or low hull.
The fellow that built the one in the video used a pump jet with a vectored nozzle. But I'm using a multi blade metal Kilo prop that will sit behind a clear set of rudder elevator. I have tested the prop and it really moves a lot of water and quickly.
She will be lit to the nines, and sport a detail paint job with the Aztec panels. For display the WTC removes and the shuttle bay doors close. The rudder and elevator will be attached to the end cap via a brass plate.
I have been working on this slowly for fun. Wayne Frey is another cause of this project. Another words, it's his fault! He sent me a nice PE kit for it too.
More as I go. Enjoy the pictures.
