My Revell VIIC-4 years of fun

I put this video together from various videos I made over the last year so it would feature the boat alone. This was my second boat I built when I started in the hobby and one of BigDave's early RCABS cylinder kits.

In all this time I have never had a failure of the system or any leaks. I'm still using the same pump. I did loose the port motor to a fishing line snag. And I have replaced the battery once. That's it.

I continue to run this boat regularly. It's a main stay.

If you have a video of your type 7 or pictures please post them here. Besides my own I have never seen a video of this boat running. Lets see some more.

Enjoy the video. some of the quality is poor as a result from pulling the footage from already compressed wmv files.

She it not fully on the surface in the videos or pictures. She does sit a bit higher when I inflate the bladders fully. Especially since the new bladder upgrade was added the BigDave came up with. The bladders are in the saddles now and are below the water line not at the deck line anymore.

For those of you interested in BD's upgrade send him and email. I have had non stop sucess with his cylinder for years now.

Here's a picture that just shows the placement of the new bladders. Get more details from BigDave. This mod did not require any changes to the WTC.

Hi from Madrid. I'm new in the forum and have a couple of questions about this sub. I got Big Dave's WTC for my VII C but, stupid ignorance of mine, I began to modify things. The result, of course, was disastrous.
First of all: Does the sub sits in a real waterline?
Second: Where do you place the battery?

The waterline depends on how

The waterline depends on how much weight you keep off of the deck. It has to be light to get maximum waterline.
My original version would not quiet get that high but the new twin bladder system will get very close.
You only have so much usable air inside of the cylinder to lift the boat.
I opted for a simpler easier to use ballast system and cylinder instillation than trying to get the waterline correct.
Sometimes you can't have both.
BTW- The battery instillation is shown on the CD manual. It goes up in the bow in a rubber balloon. Easy to get to and has never had a problem.

I say if you have two decks of the same displacement and one is made from lead and one from plastic which would be easier to lift with a given amount of air.
That is the way I see it.
