Has anyone started using the snort system on their sub? Sure would like to see some pics or videos.

The yellow bellow thing is
The yellow bellow thing is my solenoid for opening my ballast tank vent.
The system doesnt really have anything to look at in video. All you will get is a picture with the added humm of the pump going.
The system is simple. An air pump inside the wtc is controlled by either an electric switch or a servo/rocker switch setup. The a hole through the bulk head leads to the top of the ballast tank. This is your discharge. Another hole through the bulk head leads to the sail of the boat for your suction. You can see a bit of my house it is the grey stuff in the pics.
After all that is installed you just plain the boat up a bit to get the suction out of the water and turn it on a few moments later it comes up. No check valves are needed due to the pumps design and if you make the the snorkel mast on the boat functional you could surface from full submersion.

You dont. No need really.
You dont. No need really. Intermittent intake of water wont damage it. I wouldnt go running it underwater all the time though. If you get water it will just pump it to the ballast tank. This will not cause the boat to resubmerge because the air you pumped is already in there.

Nuke Power...where do you get
Nuke Power...where do you get your solinoids? What brand, and how much do they cost? Same with the valves that the solinoids actuate.
Thanks,

I cant see how that
Agreed. These are two different ways to run a ballast system. One is self contained (RCABS and RCABS-R) and the other requires pulling air (e.g. snorting) from the surface (Snort system).I cant see how that would be beneficial....
There are trade-offs, but both systems work.
