Hello all,
For my current U-673 project, I decided to bite the bullet and create a mock-up of the inner pressure hull instead of getting the resin set by Yankee Modelworks. This is so that the (hopefully) proper curvature will appear behind the opened flooding/drainage holes in the hull. There are several sources (books, websites, etc.) that show the components & structures that are affixed outside the inner pressure hull (for example, external torpedo storage tubes, air/exhaust piping, etc.)
My inspiration for mocking up my own inner pressure hull came from Daniel Jayne's FSM article "Inside the Wolfpack" and Wink Grisé's site.
Using a few books as resources (primarily "Anatomy of the Ship]U-625 build[/url], I have started to post a website to document my build of U-673... and building the inner pressure hull will certainly be a chapter on that site.
If anyone has any questions or comments, please feel free to send me an e-mail.
Cheers!
