    Hi Clive,
    Well!! He says!! http://www.subcommittee.com/forum/icon_rolleyes.gif

    Hi Clive,
    Well!! He says!!
At least for now I am not planning on doing a clear canopy. I am going to use the section removed from the hull as the canopy. It will be painted a dark blue to simulate tinted windows. The rear section of the canopy that does not remove will be painted as well. I do not have the equipment for making a clear canopy, or the time. This way will be easier for me to seal as well. I don't have to see out to drive!! Ha!! BD.

      Vacforming would be the way

Vacforming would be the way to got for a clear canopy, although it would require an undersized plug to allow for the plastic thickness, assuming you were using a male mould.

The epoxy canopy will be a lot tougher though.

While I am recuperating from a short hospital stay I decided to post a few more photos of progress on my dolphin. The drive system, motor mount, ESC mount, and battery mounts are all in. Just a bunch of small things left to do. You can see the motor, ESC and one of the batteries in the one photo. This sucker is scary!! I fired it up to test for vibration, gave a little throttle (out of the water) and VEROOM!!!! I hate to say this but I may have overpowered this thing! I may be worth the trip to Carmel for you just to see me make a fool out of myself Dorking it into something. BD.

HAHAHA! Excellent Dave. Looks like the "Great Sub Race" is a go for this year in Carmel! Twice around the bouys underwater - not surfacing more than a periscope without losing points. Can you do it?

Not even if my life depended on it!!
I would find it extremely unlikely if I could even make it around at all without hitting something!!

            But I will try! BD.

              I'll second that Big Guy.

I'll second that Big Guy. At the "Y" when BD runs so does everyone else, if you get my point. With Dave, no one and nothing is off limits. It becomes a wet version of bumper cars. I've even seen him hit the pool wall so hard as to knock the sail off his sub.

Here is one of the latest photos. It just needs paint to be done on the outside. The inside is 95% done and it all works. I will paint it after its trail run next Sunday at the YMCA. BD.

                  Well tonight is the night.

Well tonight is the night. Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water.
The Dolphin Boat is ready to test. I hit it with a quick coat of primer so it looks a bit better.
Everything works on the bench, and she floats nice after adding about a pound of lead. Once it is in the pool and I engage hyperdrive it could be a whole different story. BD.

The video is priceless, Don. I think we recovered all the pieces. Hope the Y doesn't bill us for the slashes his prop put in the ceramic tile pool deck!

Well Lady's and Gentleman, as my friend CI has just posted the video is a HOOT.
I will post it when it is sent to me. Another member took the video and is processing it. It ran quite well at first till I got a bit over zealous. I never got above 1/4 throttle. WAYYY to much power!! It was a good test though as now I know the basic design is sound. It just needs some tweaking, starting with a lower power motor!! It was a blast while it lasted. No bad damage, just the prop, two of the flippers, and a fin. Fun Fun Fun. BD.

Someone once said that pictures were worth a 1000 words, in BD's case the pictures may cost the club a $1000.
Really though, it ran like a scalded cat. I DON"T want to see full throttle as it will probably fly. This video could be titled "Jaws, the sequel" Not yet rated.
