Ok, I'm finaly back and ready to finish this one. I"ve got the hull together and need to start on the WTC. Anyone got any tips to help me out?

One thing I'm not to keen on is the setup for the forward sevos for the forward dive planes.

Howdy - Regarding front diving

Howdy - Regarding front diving planes on the Type XX1, On my 1/32 scale Type XXI, I found that in scale, they had very little effect in controling the boat diving. I would surmise, that this is in part due to their placement being back from the extreme forward area of the bow.

I'm at about the same point on my build. If I was doing this from scratch I might do it differently, but since everything is included I can't see why not to do it their way.

Man, just when I thought things were quiting down.

the only things I didn't like is the front servo box and the rudder setup. I had an idea on how I want to do the rudder. I will do a mock up and see if it works. Then use it in the sub if it does.

Wow, didn't know that was

Wow, didn't know that was you. I have used your building thread to inspire & guide me-it has been a long time since you have worked on the sub. Last night I put the front dive plane mechanism in place & have the retraction mechanism working well. The bow plane tilt linkage is too long & I am going to cut it & use a collar to make the length adjustable. If the linkage is not perfectly centered fore & aft it will bind when you retract it. Also, the original retraction servo arm was too short & I had to open the box up & change it. The Robbe pictures show the ball linkages on the last hole, there is not clearance for that & I drilled a new hole closer to the pivot to give enough movement.

One of the last things

One of the last things I id before getting stalled and is not in the build thread. I glued some scrap onto the bottom and nose to strengthen the hull joints. I just sanded the edges down to blend with the hull.
