Subtech Seals and added protection

I have one for you and this idea came from Chip a couple of years ago , I know with the RCABS system I was told that the Subtech seal will not seal completely wihout o-ringing the shaft but "what if" I used the boot over top of the seal, kinda double sealing the pushrod?

Is this overkill or a idea that can be used?

seals? I seen where Steve said to put o-rings on the seal
to help solve the vaccum leaks but I'm thinking if it's filled with SG and the orings go on the outside and inside, will that solve the issue as well?

I have subtech seals on

I have subtech seals on my Type XXI U-boat, and a 750ml piston tank. The piston tank nearly doubles pressure in the WTC and the seals hold very well. For a negative pressure the cup style seal should be tighter. So I would say try it with the standard subtech seals and se how it works before you try changes.

Just go to your local Home Depot and get a 1/4OD x 1/8ID o-ring seal like I suggest in the kit and it will not leak. Dave.

I have tried the standard seals they leak under the vacuum. I know they should not, but they do.

...replace the cup seals with the equivalent sized double-seal o-rings. These o-rings have a cross section that looks like an 'x'......works great!

those look to be pressed into place, that's why I'm wanting to know what's going on with the o-ring idea..

The seals can be popped out very easily.

A number of us have replaced the as-provided cup-seals with these 'x-rings', courtesy of McMaster-Carr. (where else, eh?)

He is right. End of story. Just replace the seals as he instructed.

It was easy. Too easy. I've run my Kilo for hours now. Deep too. Not a single drop. No sweat or frosting. Perfection.

Sorry I got carried away but it worked so well I couldn't help myself. It's nice to have a no leak boat.
