[color=#000080]The valve is rated for 6V. I am using a 6-cell battery, so voltage could be up to 8.4V for a short while. The instructions with the valve controller (AFS) just say to hook it to the battery, doesn't get into specific valve or battery voltages, and Clippard site doesn't give any more than the nominal voltage rating. Should I stick a simple 6V regulator (or I suppose even a resistor) in the AFS box (lots of room) just to be safe, or does the Clippard solenoid easily handle the 6-cell batt voltage for the odd time it will be subjected to it (I hope just the odd time...).
