    Mark,
as Dave mailed me,first the aft section is inserted.
It can be moved backwards enough to let the front half slip in.
Both are then joined inside......you don't have to cut the hull !

    Sound great......getting mine soon

        Hi Mark,
        Yes, I

        Hi Mark,
Yes, I guess you could say it is a modular design. It is three seperate cylinders joined together to make one WTC. The small one in the front houses the receiver, the next longer one has the ballast system and bow plane servo, and the rear longer one has the power system and rear servos. It took some trial and error to get the design right, but it goes together quite easily.
Like Torsten said, the rear section slides back far enough to let the front section slide in. Then they get pushed together on the o-ring seal. Then slid foreward enough to put the dog bones in, then pushed back and locked in place. I have frame by frame photos in the kit showing the install. I will try to shrink them to a lower res, and send you a copy. Dave.

          Dave,

Great work. I know how you struggled to get this to work as I'm doing the same on my own and a little help from your pictures. I'm making the Kilo conversion for static diving now. started before I saw your post about the kits and If I had know at the time would have bought one of your kits.

That now will be impossible as my money is tight in light of the recent news that my wife has breast cancer and it's very bad. That coupled with not being able to purchase health insurance is going to slow down the hobby for awhile.

Going to have my hands full here and won't be posting much until she's well. There's a good chance she'll pull through but it's going to be ruff.

All the work I do is computer 3D animation and is all 1099. So I can't even get it through work. I'm trying to take on any work I can get either with real models or computer if you guys ever hear of anything please steer it my way. I just finished up two shows for the History Channel and they say there will be more. I hope so.

          These are hard times.

Dave good luck with the sales. Those WTC's are awesome and well worth the price!

                Mark and Tim,

Thanks for the information. I can't wait to start shopping for my new project. As I get further into the project, I'm sure I'll have some questions. But for now, Thanks.

Scott stay tuned, I've managed to make a few changed to my setup before going with my final setup on the VII. Dave made things really nice with his Modular design, but I think I might have a cheap solution on the home front, by mounting my ESC outside the WTC, which means I can either pack more batteries or purhaps a ballast system, I would only be keeping the radio and batteries dry. I would like to seal off the ballast tanks on the sides of the model and use them like in the real McCoy! but I will have a finished WTC that I will be proud of and use for a future platform to use on my Kilo sub. Gota love those Uboats and Kilo subs..
but WHen the heck is Trumpeter going to release the Seawolf?

                        Just an update.

                        Well now that

                        Just an update.

Well now that the kilo is done and waiting on the seals I'm going to take what I learned and modify the WTC for static diving as I can't get enough speed in my pool before I run out of length to dive.

Still before I do that I'll get some video of her in the day time sailing around the pool.

Akula is next. Then after that I'm going to make a scratch built Washington class boat. Since I've been having a reaction to epoxy after making RC jet kits for over a year I'll be making this as a vacuum formed model much like the Robbe kits.

My friend is building me a new larger machine fro this with a 4x4 ft table which means I can make boats in the 6 ft. range.

I may make these available if there's enough interest. Hulls only as there are enough good vendors to supply you with the WTC's and other components. Plus it will help support those good hard working folks.

If you want to see the models I've made so far go to]My Webpage[/url]

I'm not selling them from my site anymore. EAM now is in production with them.
