On mine I used a Marine epoxy paste along the seams this worked well on my surface ships and is sandable. I also used Bondo on the exterior of the seams when sanded it gives a nice smooth finish. The stem is a little tight there I used a epoxy (12 min in my case) and let it flow into the void then reinforced from outside with the marine paste and bondo sanded to a smooth finish.
The stern section gets a little tricky too but the Marine epoxy helped here to.

      I've been unable to find

I've been unable to find any specs on the kit motors they seem to be about the size of 700's.
Anyone able to suggest an appropriate ESC (North American) I am undecided whether to go with a single controller for both motors or dual controllers.
I am not sure if the kit running gear is similar to the U47 but wonder what has worked with this kit?

OK, I screwed up my courage the other night and got all the hull shape cut out. I've also been experimenting with glues and epoxies. I found a couple that seem to work well. I'll start building up the hull over Christmas.

Excellent! Sometimes you just have to do it, had a few screw ups along the way but heck thats what modelling is all about, a test of your problem solving skills!

              Got the forward hull together

Got the forward hull together last night. Just have to get the bulkheads for the plane installed. I think there is a better way to do the hull. I've done some vacuformed aircraft. In my experence putting tabs from scrap to help with alinement in the lower hull would be allot easier.

                I found that my alignment

I found that my alignment was a little off the bow section and ahd to use a filler to make a smooth seam. On teh other sections I was a lot more careful to make sure everything lined up. I also found that the marine epoxy paste helped reinforce the joints.

                    Got the center section together

Got the center section together last night. Just have to get the bulkheads installed. I glued tabs onto one hull half to help with alignment. Worked great.

Got a little done recently. Also the plastic wield I picked up at wal-mart is good stuff.

There is a posting on the U boat.net forum from Michael Barney looking for a completed Robbe U2540 to use in a documenatry on U2513. Chance to be a movie star! He's looking for one in the U.S. incentive to get it done?
I'm in Canada so out of the running on this one.

                          All thats left to do

All thats left to do is the trimming and making sure everything is waterproof. She's too big for the tub! Will have to wait for the warm weather to get it under the water.
