Hi Y'all,
I just got a new Robbe Type XXIII and I am impressed. First; this baby is enormous! The hull shells are very well made in vacuformed ABS, with all free flood holes pre-cut. I am not expert on the Type XXIII but from the photos and drawings I have it would appear to be very acurate. The die cut parts are well done, with no problem cutting them from the sheet.Robbe seems to have improved on thier U-47 design, with a nod to all the problems identified with the U-47 kit. My bicycle ineer tube ballast system will be fitted with little mods to the basic design, due to perfectly sized cut outs in the framing. The kit provides for two "secondary tubes" in the location I plan to use for the Ballast "tube".
I will be making regular posts as this progresses.
