    Well in my opinion I

Well in my opinion I would have to favor a WWII GATO Boat. If there was a second suggestion the Japanese I 19 .... KInd of like cars out there on todays road... They are Chevrolets and Misubihisi etc etc they have different names but the basic designs make them almost look the same Modern day boats look nice but they all look about the same. I think a fleet boats are recognized, and have history and would be a welcome addition to the hobby in general. DrDave

      Why do people keep saying

Why do people keep saying that modern boats all look the same. Yeah sure the L.A and the Seawolf look similiar. But can you say they both look like the Nacken or the Collins class.

i'm sorry but the Vanguard does not look like a Typhoon.

I could say that WW2 boats all look the same but that would be just as silly.

I'm kind of surprized that there aren't very many non military subs on the market besides the Delta and the Alvin. How about some research subs and/or ROVs. Like the subs used in the movie "The Abyss".

              Dave,

              I think doing the 212

              Dave,

I think doing the 212 would be a real engineering challange, so my vote goes there.

              Cheers

                Hi all,

I agree with Benjamin, the 212 would be a real challenge and, being italian, it's also a matter of pride!
My vote goes for the little 1/96 German-Italian U212.

                  Well folks, it is the

[color=#000080]Well folks, it is the first of the month and time to post the results of the poll.
First off, I’d like to thank every body who took part in this, it was more exciting than I had imagined!
This was a very close race if I can call it that; I had originally thought that one boat in particular would walk away with it! But I wanted to see just which of these 7 boats people would want to see and the results were surprising!

And now for the winner, the SIERRA!!!
The sierra won by one vote on the voting thread but 3 people voted outside that thread and caused a tie between the gato and the sierra, and with my say being final, I will give it to the Sierra!
There are two other manufacturers here in the US who are working up detailed Gatos in 1/96 scale, so it looks like the Gatos will still happen for all of you who want one and these other manufactures have a head start on that project anyway.
For those of you who would like to know what I wanted to build the most? Well, it changed a bit as the votes came in, first I wanted to do the Han, then the it shifted to the 212, then the Walrus, just so many boats so little time!
I have some old plans for the Sierra and I will start my research for the project soon, this will be a big boat and I plan to use my 4” WTC in it, I look forward to chasing it around with my Trenchant!
Here are the votes for the Sierra]
