Engel Submarine Polycarbonate Cover and Gasket

I am looking for information on what gasket Durometer reading is best for use on and Engel submarine in conjunction with the aluminum like and polycarbonate lid. I am currently working on an Engel Patrick Henry that I purchased years ago from a now deceased member. due to drilling errors, I had to slightly enlarge the holes in the aluminum cover. I also removed with white support plate attached to the aluminum cover using double stick tape. I want to use a one-piece neoprene gasket for the seal.
Once the Patrick Henry is finished, I have the Engel Gato kit waiting. I have purchase 0.25" polycarbonate to use in place of the aluminum cover.
I can easily purchase gasket material from McMaster-Carr in Lombard, IL which is close to Chicago where I live.

Sub, use 50 durometer for o-rings or gaskets (might be hard to get gasket such as sheet neoprene to be rated.) Certainly NOT more than 70 rating.

    Take care,

    Bill

I have used the following from MMC with success.

Although I changed to using rubberized cork with a little bit of sealant which I like better.

Both are available from sendcutsend and can be cut to complex shapes with holes for fasteners etc. ... although a little expensive unless you are having multiple made.
