    Robbe U47 Tech Rack

Just thought I would share my Robbe U47 Tech Rack build. It is still setup as a dynamic diver using all the out of box hardware. Same motors, batteries, etc. Been fun to design and so far waterproof. It is designed to be modular so I hope to turn into a static diver over the winter. Have to get the rest of the sub done first.

Glad I got back into this hobby. Having fun so far. Hope to see you all in SF.

UPDATE: Fixed lower support size. My Robbe U47 Tech Rack. This is a redesign of the tech rack using all the same hardware as used in the basic dynamic build. I never liked the one you build with the kit. Flimsy, parts breaking, leaks. The new design has been 100% leak proof so far. Most of the electronic shelves can be printed with low infill, but i recommend building the endcaps, servo tray and engine mounts at 85% to make them stronger. Also on the very end cap, I brushed on a thin layer of epoxy to make extra water proof. Also the original plans called out for 2 6V Batteries, so If you are using those, print two of the battery trays.I used 4 pieces of 8-32 threaded rod to put it all together and 4 nuts.I am currently building a couple parts so that the rear of the sub can be unscrewed to do maintenance. Never liked the epoxy and run it til it fails way. Enjoy, I plan to turn my sub into a static diver over the winter after I get all the cosmetics done. ;)UPDATE: Just added optional support brackets to be able to remove rear of sub. Also posted my bellow adapter and magnetic link

Wow, Nice work. So how does your sub run now? Any photos? This is exciting!
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

        Posted some other misc items:
UPDATE: Updated Conning tower. Starting to add more detail. have not printed yet, use at own risk. More to come now that I am working on the detail of my sub. Robbe u47 RC Submarine Misc Items. Just a few items I have remodel for my sub. All good stuff, not a fan of the conning tower. let me know if anyone has a better one. Like an idiot ran my sub with my original only lightly tacked on to test it and lost it :( "Stupid is as stupid does"

Hate the conning tower. Grabbed from someones u-boat model. not accurate at all. If you read the summary on thingverse you will know why.

Did you water test that o-ring seal before you committed to it? I've found with 3D printing of end caps and such that they work best when printed at a smaller resolution and it takes some tweaking to get it to fit just right.

Yes, so far so good. will be in the pool for another test tonight. I'll let you know how it goes. I did coat the end cap with XTC-3D, that should help with keeping the water out. Fingers crossed!!!!
