So I am carrying these posts over to this post for the sake of separating my projects. If ye be a fan of this series give me a shout. I am going to do a video of this conversion once I complete all the electronics in case anyone else wants to build one. I am also happy to build one for you for a price. Think "an arm and a leg." Just kidding. Just a leg and a finger. Super cheap. Images coming soon. Here's a teaser.

Here's a brief look at some progress. These show how the ballast will sit as low as possible in the dead center of the ship. However it doesn't mean that I have the bow and the aft done correctly. I'll be tinkering with ballast vs floatation for a while I'm sure but until I have all the required gear in place I can't close it up and test it so I'm doing my best guesses until then. I'm also currently working on setting up the thrust vectoring controls which have been less tricky than I thought. Cross my fingers as I'm not done yet right. PS My apologies for the rotated images. They weren't rotated when I uploaded them.

Are those foam chunks I see low down in the bow in the first photo you posted? If so, just watch your trim, as foam low is going to create static instability and could make trimming your boat somewhat tricky. The Nautilus Drydocks - Exceptional Products for the World of R/C Submarines - www.nautilusdrydocks.com

Thanks Bob. Yours is certainly highly appreciated inout. I love watching those builds you do. I still plan to buy once of those salon kits so keep one on ice for me.
I plan to correct that by replacing it with a cutout of something less buoyant. I used the foam as a guide since it was easier to cut out. Plus this particular subject has a very low center of gravity once I add in the bottom section shown in the pictures above. The trick is balancing the front and rear. It's going to be trial and error as usual since I am still very much a novice to trimming. Any advice welcome.
