i take out my box,

i take out my box, cut out the hull, do a dry fit, find out it will take a 1 1/2 in. 14" long pvc pike, or a 2 in. 9" long pvc pike.

with home make end caps (no lathe needed), it should be very easy make it in to a dynamic only WTC.

    1.5 wtc

i think my 2" pvc pike wtc could go inside the type VII, too.
    post more later.

      very nice !
what motor did you use ? does it contain a gearbox
(the blue thing in the picture) ?
how do you make the prop axle watertight ?
just an o-ring or something else ?

please do post news later on !
(or write an article on it !)

        TIA,

i find the motor a the wram show, is for airplan, but with 3]motors.jpg

is the small one. i may try to jam it in the wtc, and the motor is not cheap.

for the first time i will try to put the cheap motor out side the wtc, this will make it a easy setup.

        for the end caps

        i use subtech seal.

          Found this little guy in

Found this little guy in my local Target store. It's got a watertight motor, and battery compartment, (2) blade screw. I think it might fit nicely inside my Trumpeter Kilo hull.

Tho the shaft diameter is a little too big, it should not be a problem to change.

My Kilo will use a pump ballast system for diving, I am using a small Mabuchi motor for propulsion, Trumpeter included two prop options, I chose the Type 636 (Improved Kilo) seven bladed props.

P.S. Martin, thanks for the rcuniverse forum, I can finally post pictures on the BB!

You can also see some diagrams I updated on my Kilo page]Kilo diagram update

i posted some pics here. in that post, you can also click on the link to the pics i posted at the rcuniverse.com message boards.

p.s. i believe we exchanged e-mails last summer when i tried to get this sub to work. originally i tried to use a pump ballast system, but i was about 1.5 inches short on the hull length so i gave up. this summer i continued the project and just made a dynamic diver with no ballast tank.

Was at the pond yesterday and Ted Scrivens showed up with his Trumpeter Kilo he converted to RC. The things this man is able to do makes me jealous.

i am working on the same project, after putting on hold my revell sub!

I have used V05 hair styling wax tubs for my drainpipe WTC end caps - works a treat.

Also, how do i semi fix the WTC to the hull? Any ideas appreciated - otherwise it is nearly finished
